Transylvania College | The Cambridge International School in Cluj is the only school in Romania to offer a complete educational track, from nursery through high school, on two lines of study. The Romanian line is accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education. The International Line follows the National Curriculum of England, the school being granted British School Overseas (BSO) status by the Department for Education in the UK. Transylvania College is an accredited member of COBIS (the Council of British International Schools) and Round Square, the elite association of schools that includes Gordonstoun, Prince Charles' Alma Mater.

Transylvania College is the only school in the region to offer Cambridge International Examinations for GCSE and A-Levels. Since 2013, students from around Romania and abroad
have the opportunity to study at Transylvania College while being hosted in the school’s
boarding facility, which offers placement for boys and girls aged from 11 years. The school
has received the High Patronage of Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Margareta of
Romania.

Families from all over Romania and from 25 other countries from around the world have chosen Transylvania College for the education it provides at international standards.

We are a growing community, of almost 600 students and 130 faculty members and staff. Our students learn in a modern campus, designed and built according to international standards. The first building, constructed in 2007 hosts classrooms equipped with the latest technology and laboratories for primary, secondary and high school students. The second building on campus, inaugurated in 2012 became the first educational building in Romania built on green principles. It hosts the kindergarten and nursery classrooms, an interactive library, a spacious art studio, a business room and a swimming pool. The building sets up a model of green construction while raising awareness of sustainable architecture. The third building on campus, opened in September 2013 hosts The Forum, a multipurpose hall and the centre for creative arts.

At Transylvania College the children benefit from a well-rounded education based on values, acquiring information that is relevant for the world we live in, and, most importantly, for the world they will live in as adults. Here, the classes are taught in a fun and interactive way and the teachers go above and beyond to make learning an enjoyable experience for students of all ages. This ensures great academic progress and encourages the children to become life-long learners. We implement a child-centered approach to education, the teachers helping each one of the students to reach his or her full potential.

In middle school and high school the students have the option to select a number of their courses and they are encouraged to focus on developing those skills and the body of knowledge that truly interests them. The Cambridge exams that the students take throughout middle school and high school are accepted at schools and universities in Romania and in over 150 countries. However, first-class universities in England and in the United States, for example, are evaluating students for enrollment based on a complete portfolio and not simply based on academic results. This fact is well understood by the teachers at Transylvania College, and the students are all mentored to develop a winning portfolio, which includes work experience and proof of community involvement and volunteering.

Transylvania College has initiated a number of programs and events that have positively impacted the local community. For example, the school has implemented a financial and entrepreneurial education program which involves children and students at every level, from kindergarten through high-school and which has been implemented in 21 other schools in the region. We are proud to say that Transylvania College's "My Money Week" won the Global Money Week Award at the International Summit in Istanbul, organised by the Dutch foundation Child and Youth Finance International.
Transylvania College is the only school in Europe to be shortlisted in the „British International School of the Year” award category at the TES Independent School Awards 2015, together with 3 schools in Asia.
