PRESENTATION OF MUNICIPAL SPORTS CLUB OF CRAIOVA

Municipal Sports Club of CRAIOVA is a public sports club founded as a public institution subordinated to the Local Council of Craiova. Establishment of Municipal Sports Club of Craiova was approved in the ordinary meeting of the Municipal Local Council from October 31, 2006 after unanimous voting of Project Decision 420/2006.
In the Municipal Sports Club of Craiova are three sections: basketball, handball and volleyball. Our sports group has four sports teams registered in the season 2015-2016:
Women`s handball S.C.M. Craiova – is participating in the National
League, season 2015 – 2016 – for the first time – in the European
Cups: The Cup of Cups.
Main objectives: the qualification in the play-off of the National
League and an honorable behavior in the Cup of Cups and the
Romanian Cup;
Men's Basketball S.C.M. “U” Craiova – participates in the National
League, season 2015–2016.
Main objective: the qualification in the play-off of the National
League and an honorable behavior in the Romanian Cup;
Women`s Volleyball S.C.M. “U” Craiova – participates in this season in
Division A1.
Main objective – maintaining in the first league of Romanian
female volleyball;
Men's Volleyball S.C.M. "U" Craiova – participates in this season in
Division A1 and, for the third time in a row, in the CEV Cup.
Main objectives: qualification in the play-offs, places 1 to 4; an
honorable behavior in the Romanian Cup and a good representation
in the CEV Cup, season 2015–2016.
Municipal Sports Club of CRAIOVA is a sports grouping of the municipality and local community which revived the tradition of hall sports games and aims to provide in our community the unique sports events and prestigious results to bring to the forefront of national and international sports events our beautiful city—CRAIOVA.
Municipal Sports Club of CRAIOVA through the women’s handball team, men’s basketball team and men’s volleyball team is the club which, in the season 2014-2015 had the most live televised matches on national TV: DigiSport and TVR3.
During the 2015-2016 season Municipal Sports Club Craiova will will be engaged in two international competitions: Cup of Cus with the women’s handball team(qualified for the first time in an European cup) and the CEV Cup with the Men’s volleyball team (third time in a row. During the season 2014-2015 S.C.M. „U” Craiova team was in the best 8 teams in Europe, in the second best men’s volleyball competition).
