Our story is as simple as it is complex. The Den is more than just a barbershop, but at the same time, it is the quintessential definition of what a barbershop is. Let’s start at the beginning…

Jason and Micah are two Americans who, when you get down to it, pretty much have only one thing in common; their love for this beautiful city of Brasov. If you ever overhear them talking to each other, you will start to observe a common theme to most of their discussions. You can hear them trash-talking each others sports teams and arguing whose team is better. You’ll hear them debating and arguing over which other cities in Europe are the best to visit. You might even hear them debating, and NEVER agreeing, on the best burgers, ribs and pizza in the city.

The one thing you won’t ever hear them disagree on however, is their love and admiration for probably the best city in the world, Brasov! This is the unifying factor which lead them to start The Den Barber Shop.

“Things could always be better.” This simple idea is the basis of what lead to The Den’s start. Trying to get your haircut in Brasov was always a story of one of two compromises, until now. It used to be that you had to decide between the “frizer” at the bottom of the bloc, or the salon that makes you feel out of place being a man. Either the cheap quick cut, or the more expensive, more catered to women salon. In such a great city, why were these the only options? Jason and Micah set out to change that. Without any previous experience in the field, they set out to design a place that was best from the standpoint of the customer.

This was the driving force behind The Den. Many customers have walked through our doors, some have returned, some haven’t, but in every case, we try to make sure that they understand something is different here. The goal of a relaxed, yet professional environment was set for everyone. The Den is something unique. Come in, have a beer or coffee while you wait. Strike up a conversation about anything from sports to politics. But expect nothing less than top-notch customer service and a professional cut and clean for your hair.
